Shopping centers are very carefully planned far before they are even constructed. Even though their main purpose is enabling the consumer to spend their resources in the shopping center they very soon assume an important social role in their community. If this social role really exists, and if it is proven important, it is not to be neglected in the planning phase. If that is so, it should not only influence the architecture or all the visual appearance planning but even more so the tenant mix. Since the tenant mix is the essence of any shopping center, its social role is an important factor to consider.
