Mervelle A. Sage was born and raised on the beautiful on February 6, 1979 to parents Mervin L. Sage Sr. and Jewel Ross Brathwaite along with one brother Mervin L. sage Jr. She graduated from in 1996. Mervelle Sage has earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the and will be completed with her Masters Degree in Curriculum Instruction and Assessment from in June of 2007. She is a member of the Mu Gamma Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. and the proud mother of two year old Ellijah Hermitt. Since high school she has been known for writing poetry and short stories. She has always been involved with the arts especially dance, choir, and acting. She has won several poetry contests locally and abroad. Her work has been recognized in various publications such as Treasured poems of and the Anti-Litter and Beautification team publication. Mervelle believes that empowering minds as a community through creative works such as poetry and the arts is the key to success!
