Sport is a medium through which the leader can greatly influence the consequences. The purpose of this research was to examine the ways in which perceived coach leadership behaviors impact perceptions of coaching performance, individual athlete performance, team performance, and lifelong outcomes. In this study, former student-athletes were asked to report on the experiences they had as an athlete. These athlete experiences were then examined and analyzed. It was found that coach leadership behaviors can significantly impact the individual and the team, not only in the short-term, but also in the long-term. In a world in which sport is such a large part of our society, the leadership that our coaches and other sport managers provide will have a profound impact on the individual, the team, the organization, and ultimately the world.
