I am a retired businessman, now living in San Pedro, California with my wife, Linda. I grew up in the Chicago area and like the central figure of the book, Bob Palmer, I graduated from Western Illinois University, worked briefly in the parks and recreation field, then carried mail at a suburban post office for four years before beginning my final career in the customhouse brokerage and freight forwarding industry for the next 32 years. I played in rock bands throughout high school in the 60's, college in the 70's and again in the 80's while working in my brokerage career. I still enjoy the creative process, writing and recording my own music and now completing my first book. I hope you'll find as much enjoyment reading Shout Out as I did writing it.
