Environmental management is an important tool for promoting the sustainable development of shrimp farming, but the low level of adoption of good management practices by the vast majority of farms in the state of Ceará points to the low effectiveness of this approach in improving environmental quality. This research describes the good production and environmental practices adopted by shrimp farms and evaluates the relationship between these practices and the productivity of shrimp farmed in this state.
