It is an important Middle Stone Age site that has been occupied with some gaps between 77 ka to 38 ka. In it evidence has been found of some of the earliest modern human technology including the earliest bone arrow (61ka), needle (61 ka), and (72 ka) use of heat treated mixed compound gluing.
