Amanda Rodríguez-Urrutia es doctora psiquiatra e investigadora. Trabaja en el Servicio de Salud Mental del Hospital Vall d'Hebron. Tiene una gran experiencia en el ámbito de la psiquiatría psicosomática y en el tratamiento de los trastornos mentales. Su inquietud por la investigación la ha llevado a profundizar en las relaciones entre el sistema nervioso central y el autónomo, y en los mecanismos sistémicos alterados de trastornos mentales como la depresión. Hoy en día trabaja en el macroproyecto europeo DISCOvERIE, que investiga los mecanismos cerebro-intestinales comunes de patologías como la depresión o el síndrome del intestino irritable.
