Supervision of educational personnel, programmes and projects, is the stock in trade for District Education Officers and Education Inspectors in Zimbabwe. However, supervision appears to be undertaken as 'business as usual' as evidenced by the analysis that was made on covering minutes that were used to submit supervision reports to the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education's Head Office. This is a must read book that provides an opportunity to gain insights on what is deduced from the analysis of the written covering minutes and summaries of external supervision reports. Critical issues for consideration in the deployment of supervision personnel are unearthed. Effective Education managers with a desire to make a lasting difference and those aspiring to be in this cohort, will find this book useful in their day to day supervisory roles. While the covering minutes under discussion are specifically related to primary schools supervision, the presented ideas can be applied to any document that should be sent under a covering minute.
