This material presents the Brazilian sign language and the adaptations over time and history of the evolution of communication until reaching the current Brazilian sign language and how each day the need for professional translators and interpreters, so important professional for the inclusion of the deaf mainly in the school context, being essential for the development and learning and development of the deaf person and acceptance as a language. This work was produced by means of a bibliographic and documentary review: argumentative reflection in books and scientific articles that address the emergence of LIBRAS, the history of communication and the role in communication over time and how gestures, movements and expressions have been shaped to the present day. In a more in-depth way, knowing the history, origin and evolution, allows subjects to master the language of signs and enable the possibility of choice, overcoming this obstacle that substantiates such reality by the lack of it.
