This research was focused on the prevalence and significance of HPV types in cervical cancer in Chennai, South India. The study was carried out by analyzing HPV by PCR in the biopsy of cervical cancer patients. The molecular pathogenesis of HPV was analyzed by correlating the data with the expressions of different cell cycle associated molecules such as p53, bcl-2 and PCNA in the biopsy.
