Clifford Witting is now very collectible and is seen as one of the leading detective story writers of the pre-war and immediate post war period. Most of his books were set in "Downshire" featuring Inspector Harry Charlton assisted by Peter Bradfield. He wrote 16 novels, all of which are being brought back into print by Galileo Publishing.
