Produktbeschreibung
The artist Yang YounHee emerged on the global art scene with a welcomed and more humanist brand of contemporary art. Hers is a vision that rehabilitates the idea that art practice can carry the weight of the noble, through an aesthetic sensibility that is inner-directed and genial. It substantiates the quiet integrity of the artist, as a much needed antidote to the unrelenting offerings of the glib, the abject, and the perverse. This vision is centered within the wisdom of her age. By embracing its knowledge and representing its moods, she has evolved an art practice that grows from both the beauty and the imperfections of the human being. Yang is a representational painter, but she is not a "realist" painter. She does not prioritize the task of illusion creation as the subject or philosophy of her practice. When you enter Yang's paintings, you find yourself stepping into an extraordinary world, and the complex of knowledge, experience, and moods that amounts to it. Yang YounHee pursues her painting to meet life's basic need for personal expression.
