They say art is an expression. For Steven Revland, art has been his salvation. A recovering drug addict and alcoholic, he has overcome numerous obstacles in his life, including childhood ADHD, dyslexia, and Tourette's syndrome. But what he lacked in formal education, he made up with passion and grit. For nearly fifty years, he has been working as an artist, and he is still designing and creating with the same passion he exhibited at the start of his career. And it is his passion that inspired him to pen an autobiography to illustrate the gift of hard work and determination. In Simply Revland, Revland relates his life story from his first childhood memories to present day. "I never let my struggles hold me back," Revland said. "I am self-taught in every aspect of my life." Reflecting on his career success, he seeks to honor his accomplishments in the face of adversity, having achieved national success as a furniture designer with little more than ingenuity and determination. "I don't necessarily perceive this as a book about recovery, although it could be," Revland said. "I see it more as a testament to hard work and perseverance."
