Shirley Court was formerly Head of Choirs and Primary Music for Leicestershire and Leicester Arts in Education, and is now working part-time as a choral animateur for Cheshire Education Adisory Servie. She is conductor of the City of Bermingham Symphony Orchestra Youth Chorus and Director of the Cheshire Youth Choirs.
