2D metal-organic framework (MOF) nano-sheets have emerged as a new competitive member of the 2D family owing to their adjustable structure and functionality, highly ordered pore arrays in plane, and highly accessible active sites on their large surface. However, the current investigation on ultra-thin 2D-MOF nano-sheets is far from mature; the main limitations go to: (a) the development of convenient strategy for high yield and massive production; (b) the improvement of stability in liquid solution, in ambient conditions, and during applications; (c) the seek for the most suitable application field for each ultra-thin 2D-MOF nano- sheets. Hence, the searching for the most effective preparation strategies with high yield and well stability and then seeking for the most suitable application field are thus of fundamental importance for the development of ultra-thin 2D-MOF nano-sheets.
