Sister Maple Syrup Eyes is one of the first books published from the historically under-reported perspective on rape: from that of the lesser and oft-forgotten "other victim," the individual's partner. With terse lyricism, this novella radiates the anguish of attempting to repair a love and life shattered by violence. Through a series of deliberately concise and untitled chapters, the story erupts in a before/after chasm, culminating with the main character's facing a tentative peace with his past.

Ian Brennan is best known for his part in The Magicians' Advice Podcast but he is also known as a professional, working magician. He mainly works in the UK at weddings and black-tie functions and has done so for over 10 years. He recently put together his solo show which was on a sell-out run until Covid-19 put a stop to live entertainment in venues such as his. Ian has performed at The Magic Circle in London, both on stage and close up, and he has lectured for The Magic Circle's Young Magicians Club. As well as performing experience, Ian was president of local magic club 3SM for six years and has had over 30 essays and effects published across well know magic magazines including The Magic Circular and Magicseen. He writes regular magic blogs and has been awarded AIMC at the Magic Circle. Ian's first book, A Voyage To Better Magic, was released in 2019 and is now available in a hardback edition.
