Dianne Harris is professor of landscape architecture, architecture, art history, and history at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She is the author of The Nature of Authority: Villa Culture, Landscape, and Representation in Eighteenth-Century Lombardy and Maybeck's Landscapes: Drawing in Nature. D. Fairchild Ruggles is associate professor of landscape architecture, architecture, art history, and gender and women's studies at University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She is the author of Gardens, Landscape, and Vision in the Palaces of Islamic Spain.
