Autorenporträt
Karl Kraus (1874-1936) war österreichischer Satiriker. In den fast tausend Nummern seiner Zeitschrift »Die Fackel« entlarvte er wortgewaltig die Doppelmoral seiner Zeit, die Phraseologie der Presse und einen verkommenen Literaturbetrieb. Aufgrund seines großen Dramas über den Ersten Weltkrieg, »Die letzten Tage der Menschheit«, wurde er von Professoren der Pariser Sorbonne für den Friedensnobelpreis und den Literaturnobelpreis vorgeschlagen.

Bruno Kern, Dr. theol., geb. 1958 in Wien, studierte Philosophie und Theologie in Wien, Fribourg, München und Bonn. Er lebt als selbstständiger Lektor, Übersetzer und Autor in Mainz. In der von ihm herausgegebenen Kraus-Edition sind bisher erschienen: »Weltgericht« und »Die dritte Walpurgisnacht«.
