Six Skene Street is an Australian romance, incorporating family dramas and long-held friendships. After childhood secrets are unexpectedly revealed, the lives of all concerned are radically changed. Luckily for the new couple though, their friends are always there providing love, laughs and support. 1963 Part one portrays eleven year old Dash, living in Launceston with a mother who's never loved him. His step-father is having an affair and, sick and tired of his hard to please wife, is on the verge of leaving her. Part two depicts eleven year old Evie's life before it's transformed by tragedy. Her disillusioned mother then relocates her family from the seaside town of Portarlington, to a new life in the city. 1995 Part three sees Dash secure work as a crane operator in Geelong. Divorced, with a daughter he's rarely seen, his contagious humour is put to the test after hearing news of his 'real' dad. Evie, also divorced, loves working as a feng shui consultant. Her world is rocked though, when the truth behind a terrible childhood event is disclosed, stunning her whole family.
Autorenporträt
Hi, thanks for checking out Six Skene Street; I hope you find it an enjoyable read. This is my debut novel, and I'm in the process of writing my second, but I believe I first need to give you a little bit of info about myself. I was born in Geelong and spent my early childhood running free in Portarlington ... as Evie does. I'm now divorced with two lovely sons and daughters-in-law, and three adorable grandchildren. After living in most of the places mentioned in this novel I have returned to reside in Geelong once more. In my 'spare time' (when not babysitting!) I love to write, have coffee with friends, paint abstracts, have coffee with friends, draw zentangles ... and did I mention having coffee with friends? I'd love to hear your feedback regarding Six Skene Street, so if you feel inclined you can contact me at: alisonmorantauthor@gmail.com or www.facebook.com/alisonmorantauthor Cheers, Alison.
