The band name derives from a reference to Jim Morrison who was called the "electric shaman" and was dubbed by lead singer Dan Kerzwick in early September of 1996 upon his return from European travel where he had visited the grave of Jim Morrison who is buried in Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris, France.
