As Emeritus Professor of History at Plymouth State University and His- torian for the New England Ski Museum, both in New Hampshire, USA, the author brings 45 years of academic research-a dozen books, 70 articles, some documentary film work, and numerous lectures in North America and Europe-to back up the text and images presented here. Three of his books have received Ullr awards from the International Skiing History Association, and in 2009 he was honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award. He also skis!
