In order to produce competent craftsmen with sound theoretical knowledge and practical skills that would be able to diagnose faults and carryout repairs/ maintenance on all types of electrical installations and set up their own workshops, this work sought to provide information that will help solve the low level of skills acquisition and job performance of graduates of electrical installation and maintenance (EIM) in North Eastern Nigeria. A dive into this work will expose readers to the contents, skills and job performance required in electrical installation and maintenance; namely, in domestic installation (CEI 12), industrial installation (CEI 13), cable jointing (CEI 14), battery charging (CEI 15) and winding of electric machines (CEI 16). Revelation of level of skills acquired by graduates will enable them to perform well in their life long careers. Determining the level of job performance in EIM will also reveal the graduates¿ areas of strength and weaknesses thereby assisting their employers to know their work in lager capacity. Curriculum planners will also benefit, by unveiling the areas that need improvement in the EIM curriculum, which is a basis for further research.

Dr Dauda Moses completed PhD at Modibbo Adama University of Technology, Yola, Nigeria in 2014, B.Tech(Ed) from the same university in 1997, M.Tech (Ed) from Abubakar TafawaBalewa University of Technology, Bauchi, Nigeria in 2005. An associate of the University of Sussex, UK, he hails from Jen in Taraba State, Nigeria and is married with 4 children.
