This book is an attempt to introduce the volatile constituents and biological activities of Skimmia anquetilia (Rutaceae), an aromatic evergreen glabrous shrub found in the subalpine region of the Garhwal Himalayas, contain antitumor constituents. Its principal constituent of essential oil, "linalyl acetate" is of much importance in the manufacture of soaps, incense sticks, cosmetics, perfumery and flavouring. Eggs laying behavior of Caryedon serratus Olivier (groundnut seed beetle) on the essential oils of flower and leaf from Skimmia anquetilia were studied by choice experiment. Therefore, the book will be suitable for the readers interested in medicinal plants of genus "Skimmia".
