Occupational Skin Disease is an important issue in Public Health involving millions of industrial workers in Brazil and worldwide, bringing serious economic and social consequences. The objective of this study was to carry out a bibliographical survey of the prevalence of occupational dermatitis on industrial workers, as well as its causes, consequences, preventive measures and health promotion approaches and to propose a skin health promotion program with its possible evaluation. The program was designed in a logical model comprising both the acknowledgement of the workers exposure to chemical agents present at the workplace and in hand washing facilities, health education, and the implementation of an adequate and specific hand care system for skin hygiene, restoration and protection. The evaluation of the result was suggested considering the workers skin hydration level, visual evaluations of the skin and hands photographs, as well as the perception questionnaires answered by the workers.
