Autorenporträt
Edward A. Alpers is Professor of History at UCLA. He has published Ivory and Slaves in East Central Africa, and co-edited Walter Rodney: Revolutionary and Scholar,Africa and the West, and History, Memory and Identity. He is Past President of the African Studies Association. Gwyn Campbell Maitre de Conferences at the University of Avignon, has published widely on the economic history of the Indian Ocean world including Africa and the IndianOcean World from early times to 1900. Michael Salman is Associate Professor of History at UCLA. He is the author of The Embarrassment of Slavery: ControversiesOver Bondage and Nationalism in the American ColonialPhilippines.
