As with his earlier ballet Swan Lake, Tchaikovsky contemplated the creation of a concert suite taken from the enormous ballet score for Sleeping Beauty. Op.66 but never realized the project. The five-movement suite was most likely arranged by Alexander Siloti and first published by Jurgenson in 1899. This newly engraved edition is a reduced-format reissue of the large conductor's score previously issued by E.F. Kalmus as A2183 - in an inexpensive, convenient format.
