In the Third chapter overview of the slums is given in a vivid manner. In the Fourth chapter a detail description of the Kolkata's slum population is given. In the Fifth chapter the educational and literacy level in the slums have been analyzed. In Sixth chapter the economic and occupational status prevalent in the slums of Kolkata has been studied. The Seventh chapter deals with the environmental conditions and health scenario in slums of Kolkata. In the Eight chapter the amenities present in the slums of Kolkata have been taken into consideration.
