Autorenporträt
Born and educated in Tasmania, Mary Blackwood had a long career in the health industry, first as a clinical psychologist and later in a number of senior management roles, most notably in mental health. She retired in 2013. Her poems have been published over four decades since the 1970s. Her rhyming children's story Derek the Dinosaur, illustrated by Kerry Argent, was first published in 1987 by Omnibus Books, reprinted seven times, and published in America and Korea. Mary and her family live in Hobart.
