This work proposes the construction of fundamental bases for the creation of an accessibility tool, also known as assistive technology or adaptive technology, for people with visual impairments, whether blind or with low vision, providing these people with a means of facilitating social integration, especially with regard to their academic training, with the aim of helping them to move around the internal premises of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pernambuco, Jaboatão dos Guararapes campus. In order to achieve this goal, it is necessary to integrate various types of knowledge, techniques and methods that facilitate accessibility for people with visual impairments: Orientation and mobility, audio description of scenarios, Assistive technologies, working in an integrated way with the most up-to-date techniques of Computer vision and Natural language processing, these being subfields of artificial intelligence, finally, this work will be built based onthe Design Science Research methodology of research and development.

William Roberto has a postgraduate degree in Computing (UFPE-2023). He works as a Systems Analyst at DATAPREV. Luciano de Souza Cabral has a post-doctorate (CESAR-2023, UFPE-2017), a doctorate (UFPE-2015) and a master's degree in Computing (UFPE-2009). He is currently a Full Professor and Researcher in Artificial Intelligence at the Federal Institute of Pernambuco.
