This study is a focused effort on elucidating the performance aspects of modern, handheld wireless devices in terms of the associated hardware infrastructure supported by necessary software considerations. To meet the scope of this study, the tasks are exercised include compiling relevant literature on the hardware performance details of smart, handheld devices relevant to delay issues in the printed circuit board (PCB) layouts, crosstalk problems at the baseband level (audio/multimedia) and non-catastrophic EMP/EMI effects at the RF-sections. Further, analytical considerations, computational details, suggestions mitigations and implementing the strategies are presented.
