The book reports the effects of banking reform on SME access to credit and various alternative financing schemes they use. The book reveals that while there are structural changes in the Ethiopian banking industry, they are not accompanied with competition in the credit market. Consequently, small firms still have very limited access to the formal credit market.The most interesting finding is SMEs react towards credit restraint by designing alternative financing schemes.
Autorenporträt
Ashenafi earned his BA degree in Accounting in 1998 and MSc in Accounting and Finance in 2005 from Addis Ababa University. He earned his Ph.D in economic and social sciences specializing in corporate finance in 2010 from Johannes Kepler University of Linz. Ashenafi has been teaching at higher academic institutions in Ethiopia for over 12 years.
