She affirms that while we focus on "making money," we must also focus on "making a life." She is passionate about financial literacy and is a steadfast believer in knowledge being essential for success. She is a lifelong learner who holds a Bachelor of Business Administration/Accounting degree from Bethune-Cookman University and a Master of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in finance from the University of North Florida. She also completed leadership training at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Her career began as a hospital accountant, and she later worked for the federal government for thirty-two years.
