Autorenporträt
I first started writing poetry as a way to deal with my depression. After journaling wasn't working, I tried poetry as another method. I discovered poetry was a way to face my feelings and emotions head on in a more descriptive way. Poetry then turned into a hobby and something I became passionate about. After sharing some of my poems with others who were struggling, I realized that through my poetry I was able to help others, and show them they are not alone in their struggles. I leave myself feeling open and vulnerable with my poetry, exposing my issues with mental health, addictions, opinions, love, and loss. In doing so I hope that others see that it is ok to talk about their internal turmoil, and not remain a silent prisoner. I have had so much support in my life after opening up about my issues. I hope my words can be another avenue of support for those feeling lost. I have been blessed so much in life. I wanted to find a way to pay it forward. I feel this book does just that.
