At the age of 19, C.W. Mitchell was confronted by the claims and power of Christ. He received the infilling of the Holy Spirit and became aware of the power of God that he had never known. From that point on, his life was spent seeking after God in fasting, prayer, and the study of the Word of God. In many ways his life could fit the definition of a Christian mystic, yet he struggled in life to go to school; studying Biblical studies, Law, and Banking, all of which he accomplished. He married Odena Whitehead who would walk an impossible walk of following the Spirit of God with a husband who seemingly wanted only to seek after God. Four children and 50 years later, after having served 13 churches, led 2 Bible Schools for 3 years each; one in Texas and the other in Western Samoa. Throughout this long ministry, the direct leading of the Spirit was ordinary; angels, dreams, visions, and signs were not considered unusual, but normal. Serving in Spirit-filled and Baptist churches that had taken a leap of faith in accepting a pastor such as this, yet they would not be sorry, for spiritual and physical growth would follow their ministry. At the advanced age of 66, Brother Mitchell returned from Western Samoa having contacted a lung problem and weakness. They considered the possibility that this sickness would bring an end to their ministry, until the still small voice of the Spirit directed him to write, and write they did. Though weakened and coughing, this new chapter of their lives began in earnest. A healing touch to the lungs and an avalanche of insights would result in 14 books written; and this one being finished for publication after 2 1/2 years. Odena Mitchell would be both a co-author and typist as well as the only other person who lived out the pages of all 14 books which will be published one by one. Odena would not only be a support to her husband, but an integral part of the life that he lived. Whatever the Spirit led her husband to do, she would take on as much as possible to walk it with him and God would honor that walk. We submit these pages to those who hunger after God. You as the reader, will judge this book. Is Christ to be seen in these details of the book of Genesis or have I seen more than what is there? I believe that you will see Him as I saw Him. HE IS THERE! Luke 24:27 And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
