A very prolific scorer, he led the Zagreb side to their first league title in 24 years in the 1981 82 season, also becoming the league's top scorer with 19 goals. In 10 seasons with Dinamo, he also won two Yugoslav cups (in 1980 and 1983) and was five times the club's top goalscorer.
