Linda R. Thornburg is a filmmaker, playwright and storyteller. She has worked in film, television and theater. The Snorkel McCorkle series is her second children's book. Ms. Much of Ms. Thornburg's work has focused on women's issues, LGBTQ rights, and social justice. Highlights include her feature film adaptation of May Sarton's iconic novel "Mrs. Stevens Hears the Mermaids Singing"; the documentary "Oh Dear: A History of Woman Suffrage in Ohio"; a groundbreaking lesbian play called "Leap of Faith"; and a rare television special with the legendary folksinger Odetta.
