The Goblin Snørgl and his friends undertake dream journeys with sad children on behalf of the head goblins and elves to make them happy again. Snørgl is the narrator of the stories and attaches particular importance to also tell explanatory and impart knowledge. No sooner had Snørgl and his friends arrived back in their forest from their adventure than they learned from the elves what terrible things had happened in the Valley of the Butterflies during their absence. Together with the children, they meet Griseldis, the turtle, among others. Through her they obtain valuable information that will enable them to find the Xanthis again.
