So-Lo is a Danny Elfman album recorded with his band Oingo Boingo. The band chose to record the album as a "backup band" for their longtime frontman primarily to circumvent a dispute with their label. It has also been stated that this was an opportunity for the band to record songs that had been deemed unsuitable for a proper Oingo Boingo album. There are two versions of the album: The original LP and cassettes had a version of "Gratitude" that had a spoken word middle, and fades out at the end. This is the same version that appears on the Beverly Hills Cop soundtrack.
