This writing takes you back to the 1930's leading up to World War II. A country girl, growing up in a small Ohio village, remembers what life was like and the kind of living that produced so many brave souls to save our world from hate, greed, bigotry, and inconceivable evil! The attitude of the population was so very unselfish, and patriotism was evident from the tiny kitchen of a widow saving and donating her bacon grease, to the brave young men giving up their own lives to crush the evil that was set out to dominate the world! When our country unites to preserve goodness and justice there is no end to the possibilities of our successes. The attempts of the Nazis and Japanese to rule people into submission, through self-doubt, torture, threats, and hatred of civil rights, was a world-wide abomination which had to be stopped. We did it. We saved many American lives by dropping the bombs!

Autorenporträt
: I am a retired elementary teacher and a mother, not retired! Moms never retire! I loved my years of teaching but they went by way too fast! Always being a mom, has kept me aware of the needs of our children. There are so many temptations out there, so many choices, so many risks, so much danger, and so many opportunities for good! I think many people think of goodness as a milky-toast attitude, but actually it is being strong and courageous, fighting those who are weak in judgement and those who ridicule righteousness! Goodness, in our world today, is like a lumberman's boot tramping on millions of ants running around helter-skelter in meaningless directions! Those who look down on the good people in our world are those ants, having no direction, no purpose, no ethical reason for being here! It would be better to be the boot, for it has reason, a purpose, and a worthy goal We must promote fairness, righteousness, and goodwill to the world, and be strong, and courageous in our convictions!
