Autorenporträt
Jeanne has always liked poetry, as far back as she can remember. She fell in love with it in the sixth grade, when she was introduced to Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman. She believes writing can heal in the space where the artist and divinity meet. She has taught ELL to both adults and children, tutored young children in Language Arts, and wrote grants for a social service agency that brought art into the lives of disenfranchised populations. She has a B.A. degree in Sociology/Social Work with an endorsement to teach preschool. She plans to use creative writing to expand children's imaginations, as well as heal any special needs. She's taking Transformative Language Arts courses from Goddard College, where she will learn consciousness raising and healing through poetry and journaling. She also plans to obtain a professional certificate in creative writing from NYU in the fall. She has been published in Ararat Magazine, Open Minds Quarterly, Transcendent Visions, S.P. Quill Magazine, Soul Fountain, FreeXpression, Capper's, Can-Opener, Midwest Literary Magazine, Whispers, Expressions, Living Poets, I Love Cats, Above Ground Testing, Plath Profiles IV, and Bipolar Magazine. She loves photography, jewelry designing, fabric designing, playing the blues harmonica, and glass etching. She plans to teach preschool in the fall.
