The monograph shows the aspects of the formation of social and communicative competence of university students, determined by a number of problems: social, as a specialist capable of being socially and communicatively competent is formed; professional, as social and communicative competence serves as one of the structural components of professional competence; practical, as it is possible to implement pedagogical models for the specific formation of social and communicative competence of a future specialist. Theoretical prerequisites are presented in the study of personal determinants of communication, communicative needs of a linguistic personality; in adaptation, socialization, self-realization in the sphere of communication and social interaction; in the process of communication and communication in higher education as factors of creative development of a personality and conditions for the formation of professional thinking; theory and practice of forming competences and competencies. Social and communicative competence of a graduate is the basis of effective relations, achievement of goals and objectives of professional activity.
