The present research aims to analyze the subject of social control by citizen oversight in health, it is intended to know the current status of citizen oversight; It is based on the following problem: How can be done to perform an analysis of social control of citizen oversight in the health system to serve as a strategy for improvement action and to obtain its strengthening? For this purpose, specific objectives were proposed, which are based on examining participatory fiscal control in health, assessing the regulatory system, describing participatory fiscal control in health and underlining the importance of the social control system by citizen oversight. Under the theoretical approach provided by Law 850 of 2003, the conceptual bases of social control by the overseer on the exercise of participatory democracy in the quality of care were considered. In turn, and in order to accompany the theoretical development of the study, an intensive and in-depth examination of the current state of the veedores in health is described.
