This contributed volume features state-of-the-art research from ten different countries on implementation, institutionalization and the future prospects of social entrepreneurship. This volume aims at bringing together research that considers the context of economy, politics and cultural issues combining with the needs of social and human development. By conceptualizing the notion of social entrepreneurship and societal entrepreneurship, this volume aims to disseminate the numerous streams of research and theory of social entrepreneurship to educators, libraries, scholars, non-profit researchers, public policy makers, practitioners, undergraduate and graduate students, and any organization or person interested in staying abreast of advances in this area. It is also an important reference book for teachers, students and faculty interested in conducting research or teaching social entrepreneurship.
Anders Lundström has broad experience in coordinating international research projects and he has built-up the Swedish Foundation for Small Business Research and has founded the Swedish Award for Entrepreneurship Research. Professor Lundström has also developed the international research network Innovative Policy Research for Economic Growth (IPREG) and has chaired three large international conferences. He was the former President of the International Council for Small Business (ICSB). He is a full professor of Entrepreneurship and Small business at the Mid Sweden University in Östersund. Professor Lundström has also published international books and reports in the area of entrepreneurship, innovation and small business policies in different countries.Chunyan Zhou is an academic leader (regional innovation and Science and Technology policy) of Shandong Academy of Sciences. She has participated in the RIPWATCH (EU Program) research project as the Country Correspondent for China. She has been active in joint research at Tsinghua University of China, and was a visiting scholar at Stanford University, and a visiting professor at Stony Brook University and Newcastle University. More recently she has worked with the International Institute of Triple Helix at LaSalle Innovation, Complutense University of Madrid and Mid Sweden University. She is also the founder and general manager of Tongxin Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Co. Ltd in Beijing. Yvonne von Friedrichs is an associate professor of Business Administration. She has been a partner in the several EU funded projects in recent years: EU Objective 2- Entrepreneurship, Leadership and Business development; EU Interreg IIIc ¿ Sustainable and Vocational Tourism; EU Leonardo Program ¿ Vocational Enterprise Education and Training; EU Inerreg IIIc¿ Growth in Women Entrepreneurship; EU Interreg IVc¿ Ruraland Development PlayersElisabeth Sundin is a full professor emerita in business administration and management at Linköping University, Sweden. She is also one of the senior research leaders at HELIX, a Winn Excellence Centre on Managing Mobility for Learning, Health and Innovation where she is responsible for the research area on new forms of organizations and organizing. Sundin has previously been a professor also at the Jönköping International Business School and National Institute of Working Life (NIWL). Her main research area is organizational change in established as well as in new organizations related to entrepreneurship and innovations. She is currently leading a new research project on the elderly as entrepreneurs. Sundin has published a number of books, reports and articles both in Swedish and English.
