This research work is an application of Social Forecasting as given by Daniel Bell, distinguished sociologist, to provide solutions to people issue of job attrition of Business Process Outsourcing Industry in India. The social forecasting technique has been used for the first time to address issues of industry with focus on value priorities,individualization, role scope and job satisfaction. The BPO industry's novelty,variability,technological intensity,work intensity with new sociological, anthropological and economic networks at the intersection of globalization provide challenging opportunity for the present research. Individualization which refers to structural transformation of social institutions and change in the relationship of an individual to society is studied in this research with development of appropriate instruments which has been done for the first time.This research output though based on BPO industry can be applied to any modern networked enterprise. Demographic, economic, technological and political forecasts are dealt with needed elaboration. A model to address the issues has been developed for the practicing managers.

Krishnamurthy Prabhakar (b.1955) is at present visiting Professor at Anna University and IIIT (D&M). He graduated from Madras University in Science and specialized in operations management in Master of Business Administration with distinction. His doctoral thesis is on Social Forecasting and from Aligarh Muslim University, India.
