A honeybee hive serves as an information centre where information transfer among bees allows the colony to exploit the most profitable resources in a continuously changing environment. Social learning of food odours inside the hive is one important component of foraging in honeybees. This project investigated how honeybees acquire and use socially transmitted odour information in the context of collective foraging and food processing.
