The study, "Social Media Reports on the 2022 Kaduna Train Attack in Nigeria: Assessing the Impact on Nigerians", was set to determine the impact of social media reportage on banditry in Nigeria laying emphasis on the 2022 Kaduna train attack. Survey research design was employed and questionnaire was used as the instrument for data collection. Findings revealed that Facebook and Twitter are the most popular social media platforms in Makurdi LGA. However, Facebook is the social media platform that reported on the 2022 Kaduna train attack most. Findings further revealed that social media stories on the 2022 Kaduna train attack were reported in written, pictorial and video formats altogether, and as such the reports on the 2022 Kaduna train attack were highly reliable and dependable. The social media suitably played informative role with its reports on the 2022 Kaduna train attack. The study recommended among other things that the government and security agencies should also employ professional social media activists to handle their social media pages in order to ensure effective coverage of sensitive matters like the Kaduna train attack.
