Sociological studies of religious diversity among the youth is a growing field of research. Social solidarity in recent years has become a central issue, primarily when there seems to be an increase in the radicalization of religious belief. India has always been known for its inclusive and multicultural characteristics. This study is concerned with how the youth is responding to the challenges of increasing religious diversity with a keen sense of social solidarity. It goes on to explore the nature of belief and practice among the youth who have either a nominal or non-religious identity. It examines the internal and external factors that impede religious solidarity among young people. The study calls for serious thought into an accurate understanding of the history and dissemination of misrepresented facts, so as to help promote a secular society.
