Exclusive breastfeeding is recommended for every infant after birth thus 30minutes after delivery. However, introduction of supplementary fluids to infants is a common practice among women globally. Socio-cultural factors have been found to influence women's decision to exclusively breastfeed depending on community in which they live. This book brings to mind some socio-cultural factors that influence exclusive breastfeeding in the Bawku west district of Ghana. This book also provides ways to Improve the strategie, education and training on information concerning exclusive breastfeeding in order to reach mothers with low knowledge about the benefits and optimal duration of exclusive breastfeeding.
