Addressing population ageing through research in a continent with no social or health policies targeted at the elderly is crucial for identifying gaps in service provision and suggesting solutions to the challenges of the elderly. Understanding the interrelationship between ageing, health, health systems and health care utilization is significant as it provides the base for examining the need for a National Health Policy on Ageing and social policy which takes into account the social needs of the aged. The research detailed how different domains of well-being can impact the life of elderly persons in a rural community in Nigeria and brought about the exposition of the health status of the elderly and factors that influence well-being of the elderly in each domain and overall
