The social reformers, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), the women activists and freedom fighters have been fighting for eradicating of this false traditional system in India. In this study broadly discussed socio-economic conditions ofMathammas/Devadasis in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh.

Dr. Ammiti Ramachandra was born in 1975 in Thurupupalli Village, Vayalpadu Mandal in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh, India. He obtained M.A.(Economics) Degree and Doctoral of Philosophy (Ph.D) in S.V.University, Tirupati. He worked (4 Years) as Senior Research Fellow, S.V.Agricultural College, Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh.
